Slender annual monoecious, herbaceous simple-tendril nearly glabrous scandent climber or creeper, angular stems, denticulate mucronate rough hairy leaves vaguely pentagonal or trilobed with white spots above and hairs, glabrous beneath to 70mm x 80mm. Male axillary, sometimes terminal racemes or solitary flowers pale yellow or white flowers to 7mm across with petals to 3.5mm, calyx tube 2mm long with lobes 1mm long, corolla with 5 lobes 4mm long, female flowers axillary solitary or paired to 2.5mm diameter, segments 5mm long, glabrous orange, white or red fruit to 40mm long x 10mm
