Dioecious evergreen scandent or erect shrub or small tree, branchlets armed with prickles, glabrous imparipinnate leaves to 300mm long, leaf rachis often with narrow wings 1mm each side, 2-11 pairs of leaflets to 80mm x 30mm sometimes crenate, terminal or axillary glabrous cymes to 210mm long, staminate flowers to 3mm long with 5 sepals to 0.8mm long & 5 white to greenish-yellow petals to 2.5mm long, carpellate flowers to 3mm long with sepals & petals as male flowers, paired follicles to 4.5mm diameter
