High-climbing liana to 15m with simple tendrils, striate stems. Coriaceous leaves to 160mm x 90mm, glabrous above, finely barbed on nerve below, leaflets to 120mm x 85mm. Axillary & terminal puberulent panicles, racemes or corymbs 150mm long of scented yellow flowers or purple with pale yellow to white throat, puberulent calyx to 10mm x 5mm, puberulous corolla 60mm long with 7mm lobes. Brown fruit capsules 150mm x 40mm
