High climbing tendril liana with simple or 2-3 foliolate leaves, leaflets to 200mm x 150mm, foliage sparsely pilose above, densely tomentose beneath. Terminal or lateral panicles to 400mm long with bracts, fragrant 15mm long red-violet, lavender or lilac flowers, 5-toothed calyx to 4mm long, corolla tube to 11mm long, lobes 4mm x 3.5mm. Capsule 160mm x 13mm
