Herbaceous annual glabrous slightly woody wiry creeper or twiner to 2m or non-twining prostrate herb with angular glabrous stems, axillary 1-3 flowered cymes with bracts to 2mm, or solitary 25mm long cream to white flowers with or without a maroon to brown centre & with yellow bands, glabrous mucronate sepals to 12mm long, yellow corolla with purple or pink eye to 14mm across 25mm long with 4mm lobes. Fruit a papery 4-valved capsule 9mm long with persistent sepals, mucronate leaves glabrous above, glabrous or puberulous beneath, leaves toothed at base to 200mm long, often 2-lobed, downy peduncles
