Woody twining deciduous liana with glabrous stems & leaves, imparipinnate leaves, 15-19 glabrescent leaflets to 70mm long. Slightly fragrant 20mm violet to purple & white flowers with small bracts in 300mm long racemes, puberulent calyx with tube 4mm long x 7mm & teeth to 2mm long, blue-purple corolla to 20mm long, dark brown seed pods velvety to 200mm x 20mm
