Normally a tree or shrub to 12m, just occasionally a vine or scandent shrub, glabrate branches, almost glabrous leaves to 650mm x 350mm, cymes to 400mm long with minute bracts & bractlets, glabrous calyx lobes to 1.5mm long, one lobe expanded into a red limb 70mm x 25mm, yellow or orange corolla 8mm long, pilose capsule 5mm long
