Annual or biennial scrambling or trailing sparsely hairy simple or branched tendril vine or shrub. Pinnate leaves, mucronulate crenate pubescent or glabrous leaflets. Axillary fascicles of solitary or paired 30mm purple to white or pink to red flowers. Fruit to 80mm long x 11mm a brown, glabrescent yellow-brown or black torulose erect pod.
