Generally epiphytic woody climber with tuberous stem to 3m long and swollen tap root, glabrescent branchlets. Coriaceous glabrous leaves or pubescent on midrib beneath to 170mm x 65mm. Axillary racemes to 100mm long with a small bract & 2 minute bracteoles, 1mm calyx tube with 5 lobes 3mm x 1.5mm, greenish or white to cream corolla often with reddish tinge to 6mm long x 7mm with 5 lobes to 5mm long. Greenish berry tinged red turning black to 9mm diameter crowned with calyx lobes.
