Large woody climber or shrub to 15m, young twigs with ferrugineous hairs , very hairy vine. Leaves to 240mm x 90mm, rough above, pilose beneath. Leaf-opposed or extra-axillary solitary or paired dark red flowers with pilose medial bract to 10mm x 3mmg, 2-3 sepals to 15mm long, dark red petals 10mm x 8mm, flower to 15mm diameter. Orange fruit to 50mm x 15mmg with dense ferrugineous tomentum
