Sometimes climbing shrub or small tree to 4m, glabrescent branches, rusty-pubescent at first. Glabrous coriaceous leaves to 125mm x 60mm. 1-5 flowered racemes of rusty-red flowers 25mm or more in diameter with bracts. Carpels rusty-pubescent to 25mm long.
