Large woody climber to 25m, striate twigs with brown stellate hairs when young. Leaves to 150mm x 55mm glabrous above except on midrib & hairy beneath. Single or two-flowered leaf-opposed inflorescence with hairy basal bract to 5.5mm x 2mm & medial bract 3.5mm x 2mm, hairy triangular sepals 11mm x 9.5mm with black dots on both surfaces, white, greenish or pale yellow hairy petals 10m x 5mm. Brown tomentose fruit 35mm x 25mm
