Scandent herb with tuberous roots, twining stems. Papery pubescent leaves to 125mm x 125mm. Dioecious flowers in axillary panicles, male flowers with 9 sepals, outer 6 to 1.25mm x 0.5mm, inner 3 to 2.5mm x 1mm, & 6 petals clawed at base with inflated translucent lobes or wings on either side. Female flowers with 12 sepals, 9 outer ones to 0.75mm x 1.5m, inner 3 to 3.1mm x 2mm & 6 petals clawed at base to 1.2mm x 1mm with 2 wings & a claw.
