Large scrambling liana with 4-angled pubescent stems, axillary solitary or terminal panicles to 100mm across of brownish-yellow flowers 20mm long covered with white silky hairs outside, 5 villous sepals to 2mm long, silvery-velvety 5 petals 3mm long, calyx to 5mm, corolla to 32mm long silvery-velvet outside, curved hooks from converted flower stalks, pubescent capsule 25mm x 5mm surmounted by calyx tube, coriaceous leaves glabrous above, rusty-tomentose beneath or pilose on both surfaces to 150mm x 70mm, fruit covered in brown villi, coriaceous leaves glabrous above pubescent beneath to 150mm x 125mm
