Evergreen shrubby climber or procumbent shrub with rusty tomentum or pubescence, huge tuberous root. 2-foliolate leaves to 175mm across x 100mm. Axillary or terminal ferrugineous-tomentose leaf-opposed racemes to 300mm long with 12mm deciduous bracts, 75mm pale yellow flowers, sometimes with red at base of petals, 4 yellow & one green reduced petal, rusty-pubescent calyx, larger petals to 30mm long x 9mm wide, posterior petal smaller, fruit green shading to pink, young fruit densely brown-velvet. calyx tube to 12mm, yellow or orange anterior petals pilose externall y to 50mm long, posterior petal to 4mm long, legume to 12mm long.posterior petal broader than anterior one
