Annual or sub perennial dioecious or monoecious pubescent slender twining herbaceous bifid to 5-fid tendril vine or trailer. 3-5lobed puberulous denticulate leaves 100mm x 120mm . 50mm across white flowers with fringed petals to 10mm long, male axillary racemes or pairs to 200mm long, calyx tube to 16mm long with lobes to 1.5mm, petals 7mm long, female flowers axillary solitary to 30mm long, calyx & corolla as male. Scarlet or orange striped or speckled with white coiled beaked fruit to 2m long x 40mm, fetid.
