Scandent subshrub to 10m with striate puberulous stems. Leaves glabrous above & puberulous beneath. Panicles of brownish flowers, flower heads 5mm x 4mm with 8-10 flowers per head, purple-pink corolla to 5mm long with tube 2mm long & lobes 1.5mm x 0.4mm. Achenes 2mm long with white or yellowish pappus to 4mm long.
