Herbaceous twiner with stinging hairs, toothed leaves with bristly hairs both surfaces to 125mm x 60mm, short lateral racemes of 1mm male flowers with pubescent bracts 4mm long & 3 sepals, 5mm female flowers with 3-lobed bracts 5mm long, 10mm long calyx with 6 pubescent segments, hairy capsules, greenish flowers, inflorescence to 30mm long, numerous male flowers 1-2 female flowers, fruit 3-lobed pubescent or sparingly strigose capsule 4mm x 8mm
