Liana to 14m, coriaceous leaves serrate at apex scabrous beneath to 200mm x 100mm, terminal tomentose panicles to 400mm x 250mm of flowers to 12mm dia. 5-6 sepals outer 2 4mm x 4mm inner 3-4 to 7mm x 5.5mm, fruit capsule to 8mm x 6mm with a beak to 3mm long
