Perennial dioecious herbaceous woody climbing bifid tendril liane to 30m in length. Fringed 50mm white flowers marked purple at base, glaucous green to white fruits to 600mm long, acutely 10-ribbed. 5-foliate leaves, male flowers in 300mm long racemes
