Tall evergreen woody liana to 30m, leaves with 5 or 7 leaflets to 130mm x 70mm, flowers produced on old wood to ground level in racemes, with trumpet-shaped 115mm pink-purple flowers, petal-lobes flushed pale yellow, coriaceous green tinged red calyx to 40mm long with triangular lobes to 15mm x 10mm, corolla to 110mm long including triangular lobes to 15mm x 20mm, beaked woody seedpod to 300mm x 32.5mm x 30mm
