Glabrous high-climbing woody liana to 20m with twisted stems, fluted when old. Coriaceous glabrous leaves to 240mm x 100m hairy on midrib. Axillary grey-pubescent cymes with 6 white, pink or purple bracts to 35mm x 16mm, blue flowers with white bracts, 3-4 lobed calyx to 9mm long pubescent or tomentose wirhout & hirsute within, lobes to 3mm long, 6-7 lobed blue corolla, tube to 8mm long, glabrous in tube with villous band in throat & puberulent without to 9mm long, 6-12 lobes to 5mm x 2mm pubescent without glabrous within.glabrous Fruit to 6mm diameter with accrescent calyx.
