Liana or scandent shrub to 40m long with puberulent branches. Coriaceous leaves to 180mm x 90mm, glabrous above & puberulent beneath. Axillary many-flowered puberulent panicles of scented white flowers, calyx lobes 0.5mm long, corolla lobes glabrous outside & lanate inside, spines. Warty orange fruit to 23mm x 20mm
