Liana or tree up to 20m, glabrescent twigs, branches sometimes with thorns, glabrous leaves to 150mm x 110mm. Tomentose terminal inflorescence to 45mm long, calyx to 12.5mm long, pubescent outside, glabrous inside, corolla to 12mm long with tube to 9mm long, lobes with thickened margins and minutely tomentose, woolly inside tube, no tendrils, scabrous fruit to 60mm diameter
