Glabrous liana to 60m climbing with hooks & spines. Coriaceous leaves to 260mm x 130mm, puberulent on mid-rib above. Terminal & axillary puberulent panicles to 25mm long of scented 8mm cream flowers, calyx lobes 1mm long, corolla tube 8mm long. Yellow-brown tuberculate fruit 35mm diameter
