Sarmentose shrub, small tree or liana with lenticellate branches, coriaceous glabrous leaves 40mm x 16mm with wavy margins,terminal cymes with bracts to 6mm to 5 flowers,calyx 14mm long, sepals with recurved tips, corolla tube to 38mm long, fragrant white flowers tinged dull yellow on tube & throat, bright red-purple on upper throat, lobes, red-purple streaked inside, tube 20mm long, lobes to 48mm long, divergent follicles with numerous lenticels, to 240ยบ 335mm long x 25mm diameter, dark brown to purple-brown glabrous
