Deciduous sarmentose glabrous erect shrub or liana, branches with corky protuberances, leaves 70mm x 45mm, terminal or pseudo-axillary cymes with bracts to 6mm long to 4 flowers, scented flowers, calyx 14mm long, corolla red-purple outside becoming yellow-brown on tube, tube 26mm long, lobes 135mm long including tail,lobes & tube white inside becoming yellow-brown, red-purple veins inside tube, appendages white becoming yellow-brown, yellow & red 30mm flowers with a 205mm tail, corolla 37mm long, divergent follicles to 180ยบ 370mm long x 35mm glabrous dark brown
