Shrubby pubescent twining climber with lenticellate stems. Subcoriaceous leaves downy above, fuscus-velvety beneath to 125mm x 50mm. Pubescent panicles or cymes 50mm x 35mm with reddish-brown hairs & bracts to 1mm, of red flowers, glabrous or hairy calyx with lobes to 2mm across, glabrous corolla, tube with lobes to 1.8mm. Tomentose follicles to 75mm x 7.5mm.
