Slender twining climber to 20m with tuberous root, glabrous stems, peltate mucronulate nearly glabrous leaves to 200mm x 200mm, purplish veins beneath sometimes slightly lobed. Flowers on axillary umbels to 150mm, male flowers yellow to orange with 6 sepals to 2.5mm long, 3 glabrous petals to 1.5mm long, female inflorescence similar to male, female flowers with 1 sepal 1.25mm x 0.5mm, 2 glabrous petals to 0.75mm dia., red drupe to 9mm x 6mm 4 longitudinal ridges
