Slender woody liana to 12m with glabrous leaves to 190mm x 170mm. Male inflorescence cauliflorous or axillary racemes of cymes to 90mm long, male flowers white, yellowish or orange with 3 outer sepals to 1.75mm, 3 inner sepals to 1.5mm, 3 petals 0.75mm long, female inflorescence similar to male, female flowers with 3 sepals 0.5mm long, 1-2 petals nearly as long, red drupe to 10mm x 8mm with 4 rows of up to 19 transversely hooked projections. Scandent glabrous plant. Mucronulate leaves to 90mm x 55mm. Male inflorescence a pseudo-raceme to 70mm long with 6 sepals, 3 exterior ones to 1.5mm x 0.4mm, 3 interior ones to 1.2mm x 0.8mm, 5 petals to 1mm x 1mm.
