Slender glabrous woody cauliflorous herbaceous twiner to 15m with tuberous roots, peltate leaves to 200mm x 140mm. Male axillary or sometimes cauliflorous axillary racemes with triangular bracts to 2mm, yellow to green flowers with 2-3 sepals to 0.75mm long, 2-3 petals 0.25mm long, female inflorescence & flowers similar, red drupe 11mm x 8mm with 4 rows of up to 14 projections. Twining shrub with lateral & axillary racemes of flowers, peltate coriaceous leaves
