Fruiting Times
Woody twining liana to 9m or grey-puberulous scandent shrub with glabrescent lenticellate branchlets. Glabrous leaves to 130mm x 50mm, glabrous both surfaces or tomentellous beneath. Axillary & terminal pubescent panicles or cymes to 600mm long with 6 puberulous brownish-red bracts to 25mm x 7mm, pink flowers with hairy throat, pubescent 5-6 lobed calyx to 5mm x 2.5mm, lobes to 0.5, calyx enlarging in fruit to 18mm x 7.5mm with lobes to 2mm long, 5-lobed dark purple corolla, tube to 6mm long with 5 puberulous lobes to 2mm long. Glabrous drupe to 6mm long with persistent calyx & villous ring in throat, capsule included in enlarged ribbed calyx.
