Climbing woody hairy shrub to 15m with glabrescent grey lenticellate branchlets. Leaves to 120mm x 85mm pilose or glabrescent above pubescent beneath. Tomentose terminal or axillary panicles to 230mm x 120mm with 6 tomentose strigillose bracts 25mm x 6mm, 5mm blue, white or mauve to purple or yellowish flowers, tomentose calyx 4.8mm x 4mm with 5 bilobate tomentose lobes, 5-lobed corolla glabrous outside & villous in throat 8mm long with lobes ciliate at margins, fruit a pilose-hispid capsule
