Climbing shrub or tree with glabrous striate young twigs. Glabrous leaves to 145mm x 50mm with scattered pale hairs beneath. Solitary axillary or terminal flowers with 2-3 minute bracts 1.5mm x 1mm, glabrous sepals 7mm diameter with pale hairs outside, coriaceous yellowish petals, outer petals to 20mm long tomentose both surfaces, inner petals 6mm x 5mm hairy outside & more or less glabrous within. Glabrous fruit 9mm x 7mm with a few pale hairs near apex & persistent sepals
