Sometimes scandent shrub or tree to 3m, stems hairy & thorny with thorns to 6mm x 4mm. 3-4 lobed hairy leaves to 110mm x 70mm, thorny on nerves beneath. 20-40 flowered lateral racemes with 5-toothed calyx to 3mm long, lilac corolla to 18mm long. Yellow glabrous berry to 11mm diameter.
