Rusty-tomentose shrub to 3m, tree, herb or scandent tree or shrub, stems tomentose & thorny with sparse spines recurved to 5mm x 6mm. 2-3 lobed leaves to 260mm x 205mm, pubescent, white-tomentose beneath leaves often unarmed or with thorns beneath, prickly midrib. Lateral raceme or umbel to 15 flowers, calyx 4mm long & lobes 2.5mm long. White or pale blue corolla to 8mm x 15mm, white with lobes half that length. Fruit a reddish-yellow to red globose berry to 7mm diameter.
