Sometimes scandent shrub to 2.5m with hairy branches. Stellate-pilose leaves. Supra-axillary umbels of 2-4 flowers, calyx lobes to 6mm long, white corolla. Glabrous berry to 8mm diameter. Unarmed scandent shrub or vine to 6m, stellate-tomentose young stems. Leaves to 110mm x 36mm, hirtellous above & tomentose beneath. Lateral racemes or umbels of 13mm diameter white to pale lavender flowers, pilose calyx to 7mm diameter with 5 lobes 3.5mm x 1.3mm, white corolla 13mm diameter with 5 lobes 6mm x 2mm, fruit a glabrous black berry to 15mm diameter
