Tall liana, villous stems becoming glabrescent, red ferrugineous stems. Mucronate dentate leaves to 110mm x 40mm, villous when young. Villous axillary fascicles, 5 sepals 1mm x 1mm, 5 petals 1.25mm long villous outside. Tomentose fruit to 70mm x 9mm surmounted by samaras to 25mm long. Stout scandent shrub or woody climber with terminal panicles or leafy racemes to 200mm of 1.5mm diameter densely pilose flowers, fruit a winged drupe to 70mm long with wings to 12mm, densely puberulent, serrated leaves tomentose on veins beneath
