Tuberous subshrub or vine to 1m with prickles & pubescent stems. Mucronate leaves to 100mm long, glabrous or pubescent above & often white-pubescent beneath. Flowers yellowish to 4mm, yellowsuh-green petals & sepals to 3mm long in staminate flowers, shorter in pistillate flowers. Fruit red to 8mm long
