Spiny or unarmed yellow tomentose climbing vine or shrub, sometimes with tendrils, striate pilose or glabrous stems. Densely tomentose coraceous leaves to 160mm x 90mm, glabrate above. Male flowers in axillary umbels of 30 flowers, with tomentose bracts to 13mm long, 9mm long pale green flowers, tepals 9mm x 1mm. Female flowers with sepals 3mm long. 20mm long x 10mm diameter orange or bright red berries
