Scandent herb with pubescent stems. Coriaceous leaves to 65mm x 35mm, glabrous or hairy above & densely pubescent beneath. Terminal racemes of 30-35 flowers, pubescent calyx lobes to 4mm x 2mm, bilabiate pubescent corolla to 47mm long with deep violet flowers, paler inside, corolla tube to 34mm x 4.8mm at base expanding to 7.5mm at mouth, dorsal lobes to 13mm x 3.5mm, ventral lobes to 10mm x 2.8mm.
