Annual or perennial herbaceous high-climbing 3-5 parted tendril vine with striated glabrous stems. 3-5 lobed leaves to 220mm x 220mm, scabrous above, pubescent beneath, toothed lobes. 15mm yellow or white flowers (male) in axillary racemes, pistillate flowers solitary axillary to 12mm long 5 petals. 200mm long green-yellowish or white sparsely prickly or unarmed pear-shaped fruits, inflorescences to 300mm long, flowers 17mm wide, white with yellow stamens ,
