Large woody climbing shrub with prickly stems and grooved branches, small hooked prickles, young parts densely grey tomebtose. Bipinnate leaves to 150mm long armed with hooked prickles beneath, 5-10 pairs of pinnae to 80mm long, 10-25 pairs of mucronate glabrous leaflets to 10mm x 4mm. Terminal panicles of flaoerheads 12mm diameter, white flowers with bracts to 4mm long, toothed calyx 2mm long, dull white corolla 3mm long. Flat glabrescent pod to 150mm x 20mm.
