Glabrous woody based evergreen twining herbaceous scrambler to 5m, with somewhat zigzag slightly villous sometimes grooved stems, dentate glabrescent leaves or floccose beneath, to 100mm x 50mm, toothed and lower leaves often lobed. Terminal & axillary thyrses or panicles with slightly villous floral bracts, inferior bracts 1.5mm long, superior ones 6mm long, 15mm lemon-yellow to bright yellow flowers, 12-14 ray florest 9mm x 3.5mm, tube 4.5mm long, with 5 lobes. Hairy ribbed pubescent achenes 3mm long with dirty white pappus 3.5mm long
