Climbing bamboo, culms to 4m long bending over at top, culm sheaths with light brown hairs, glabrous leaves to 200mm x 20mm terminating in a bristly point , terminal spikes with bracts, 1-6 groups of spikelets, pseudo-spikelets to 14mm long, fruit to 20mm long
