Stout liana to 26m or large glabrous climbing or creeping shrub with simple alternate coriaceous, glabrous leaves to 250mm x 115mm. Flowers in axillary or extra-axillary brown-hairy clusters or spicate racemes, male to 250mm, female to 400mm, calyx to 1.5mm, petals greenish-yellow to 4mm, hairy outside, glabrous within, female flowers slightly larger than male, orange-red wrinkled drupe 40mm x 20mm x 15mm enclosed in persistent calyx and petals
