Dioecious glabrous woody twiner with heart-shaped leaves to 150mm x 120mm. Inflorescence an axillary or cauliflorous pseudo-raceme, greenish-white & pink flowers, male inflorescence to 40mm long with minute bracteoles, triangular sepals 1mm long with dentate margins, fleshy petals to 2mm x 1.5mm thick, female inflorescence to 160mm long, cauliflorous, flowers 3mm long, sepals and petals as in male, glabrous red drupe to 8mm diameter covered in sharp points
