Scandent sprawling shrub or small liana with lenticellate branchlets. Coriaceous leaves to 120mm x 65mm, mucronate when young. Inflorescence to 450mm long with 100-140 sessile flowers & deep red leathery bracts turning maroon to 15mm long.Deep red leathery flowers to 4mm diameter with triangular bracteoles 1mm long, sepals to 1mm x 2mm, petals to 4mm x 2.5mm. Dark red fruit to purple-black to 10mm diameter.
