Liana or semi-scandent shrub with lenticellate glabrous stems. Coriaceous leaves to 345mm x 115mm with recurved margins. Axillary or extra-axillary cauliflorous inflorescence with triangular bracts to 1mm long, small pearly-white or yellowish flowers, fimbriate calyx lobes to 4mm long petals to 7mm x 6mm. Edible orange to scarlet fruit to 50mm diameter, with persistent calyx lobes and petals.
