Prickly rambling sometimes climbing shrub to 3m with pubescent prickly branches, prickles to 3mm, leaves silvery beneath, 3-5 serrated leaflets, terminal leaflets to 180mm x 75mm, lateral ones smaller. Axillary & terminal panicles or cymes to 50mm long with bracts, 15mm white or greenish-white flowers with triangular sepals to 13mm x 7mm, petals to 5mm x 3.5mm, orange maturing red fruits to 10mm diameter. Not climbing in China.
